White Bread Recipe

White Bread Ingredients:
500g Double Kris
1½ tsp salt
10g compressed yeast
1½ tbsp oil
340ml lukewarm water
1 small egg (Lightly beaten for glaze)


  1. Put sifted flour, salt and yeast into a mixing bowl. Make a well in the center.
  2. Add the water to the oil, stir and pour into the flour mixture.
  3. Mix well until dough is formed.
  4. Knead the dough for 10 to 15 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  5. Grease a loaf pan. Shape the dough into a long rectangular piece and place it into the loaf pan.
  6. Put the pan into a plastic bag and allow to proof for about 1 hour or until the dough doubles in size.
  7. Brush the surface of the loaf with the beaten egg and bake in a pre-heated oven at 220°C for about 30 to 40 minutes or until loaf turns golden.
  8. Remove bread from loaf pan and allow it to cool.
